Big Boi explains why JIVE kept Andre 3000 off his upcoming album

Outkast's Big Boi has explained why his old label Jive Records is blocking Andre 3000 from appearing on Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son Of Chico Dusty. Big Boi said that Jive's "stupid business and it's stupid politics" are to blame. The present situation stems back 3 years to Big Boi's time on Jive Records before he signed his new deal with Def Jam. Big Boi revealed that Jive has had "Shutterbug" and "General Patton", the first two singles from his album, for 3 years and did nothing with them claiming, "That's gonna make us look bad." Jive even asked Big Boi to bite Lil Wayne's swag and copy "Lollipop", so Big Boi left the label. Jive hasn't changed it's attitude towards Big Boi's music and don't want Andre 3000 to appear on it.

"It's plain stupidity. It's stupid business and it's stupid politics. I mean, Jive Records had 'Shutterbug' for three years. And 'General Patton' for three years. They told me to go in and make my version of Lil' Wayne's 'Lollipop!' How you gonna tell me to go bite another MCs style? How are you even going to open your mouth up to tell me to go and do that? That's the highest form of disrespect ever. So that's when I wanted to get off Jive."

What do you think of Big Boi's new music? Do you think Jive is bitter now that "Shutterbug" and "General Patton" are getting good responses?
