Jay-Z and Eminem Join Forces to tour

The rap stars will co-headline Detroit's Comerica Park on September 2 and New York's Yankee Stadium on September 13. They announced the news together during Wednesday's Yankees vs. Tigers 666 baseball game at Eminem's hometown Comerica Park. On-sale dates have yet to be announced.

"This is a once in a lifetime set of shows, and I know we're both really going to bring it to our hometowns," said Eminem, whose new single "Not Afraid" debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart Thursday. "The fans are going to love this -- and so am I. It's gonna be historic."

Though Jay-Z has been touring regularly in support of his latest album, "The Blueprint 3," the last time Eminem headlined a show was at the New Orleans Voodoo Music Experience in October 2009. The new stadium gigs will offer fans a rare chance to see him perform a full set, one that will surely feature new material from "Recovery," his follow-up to 2009's "Relapse" due June 22."
