I've been following Monáe for about two years now, and have been amazed of her concept and work. Her debut ep "Metropolis suite I of IV" was a 7 song set of energetic spooky robotic jams that segued for about 25 minutes of pure funk. Monáe doesn't disappoint with the following two EPs combined to make one album in this Tetralogy of music. But what's different about ArchAndroid, is that the lyrical content is far more deeper and darker than that of metropolis. With songs like "Cold War" and "Locked Inside" will have you thinking of the world we live in while she still keeps the James Brown-André 3000-esque style boogie throughout the album, you can't help to vision this record as a movie for the ears and imagination. It's definately worth the buy.
