Jay-Z Sues David Ortiz Over Nightclub Name

Jay-Z has filed a lawsuit against baseball player, David Ortiz. Jigga claims that the Boston Red Sox player stole the name of his 40/40 club. The accusations and ultimately the law suit came about when Jigga discovered that Ortiz opened a nightclub in his home country, Dominican Republic with the same name "Forty-Forty". One of Jay-Z's lawyers, Peter Raymond said that, "David Ortiz was at the club at least twice, and certainly knew of it." Pictures of Ortiz at Jay-Z's 40/40 club were also included in the complaint. Jigga's lawyers also claimed that the promotional website for Ortiz' counterfeit club "blatantly trades on the goodwill and fame" that Jay-Z and his partners have built up.

It's clear that Jigga is about his business. I can't think of any reason why he shouldn't pursue this lawsuit. Also, I think we all can agree that this lawsuit is about the principle more so than the money. This should teach people a lesson or two about swagga jackin'. At some point, we all must account for our action... Sucks for you David (Ortiz).
