Rapper T.I., whom was just released from prison earlier this year over gun charges has been sued by a social music TV company Akoo International a year after he launched his clothing line Akoo Clothing. TV executives have filed the suit against T.I. claiming they have had the trademark to the name Akoo for many years. Akoo is the world’s largest social music television network and is broadcast in over 86 million homes. Akoo CEO Niko Drakoulis says, "Akoo has been recognized as a leading social TV platform for connecting brand advertisers with millions of our engaged viewers. Our primary obligation and goal is to prevent confusion among our consumers, which is among the most basic objectives of trademark law. At the same time, Akoo has invested nearly a decade of effort and substantial capital to deploy its network and will do everything in its power to protect its brand."
