Music: Chase PE$O (@ChasePESO__) - Only Getting Older (Prod. by Jammin Joe)

As his buzz is gearing up, and slowly but surely people starting to take notice in his music, Brooklyn Emcee Chase PE$O releases his second single "Only Getting Older" off his highly anticipated upcoming sophomore mixtape "Glass Jars & Butterfly Tops". With additional vocals from world renowned poet Saul Williams, Produced by Jammin Joe. Track is definitely worth a listen.

Music: Z3ro The Comet (@Z3RO_) - Barrel Royale (feat. /_\drian Daniel)

After a brief silence the young emcee drops "Barrel Royale"

To say that is about time Z3ro The Comet released new material is seriously an understatement. While he was involved with our first FRSH OFF THE BNCH cypher and was featured on a track with a fellow emcee, Z3ro has been very quiet on the solo side of things. Yet, after much teasing, he finally released an all new track that he entitled "Barrel Royale" featuring rising Brooklyn vocalist /_\drian Daniel.

If you know anything about him, it is definitely the fact that Pharrell plays a huge part in his life and was one of his main inspirations in becoming a producer and artist. Z3ro has made it clear that he's never been the type to be afraid to be a little different and in this one he incorporates his spacey sound while channelling a bit of Pharrell on the chorus, boldly showing off his singing chops.
This is what Z3ro had to say about the song: "Barrel Royale: All we do is hinder each other and until we, as artists, creators, innovators and so on, figure it out, nobody will be able to move up progressively in this world we’ve caused today. If a change for all is going to be made, we need to work AS one instead of FOR one. In other words … 'Stop pullin the next nigga down! We could all get to our destination if we pushed each other forward… shit!'"

"Barrel Royale" is a message for all the artists out there who believe that pulling down the competition is their way to the top. (Courtesy of the homies over at Undrgrnd Nation )

Meek Mill on Rick Ross Rape Lyric Controversy

During an interview with DC’s 93.9 WKYS, Meek Mill was asked about the controversy over Rick Ross’ “U.O.E.N.O.” lyrics.
Biggie said, ‘rape your kid throw ‘em over the bridge’ back then it was nothing, it was just Hip-Hop. Now you got all these weirdos on these social sites voicing their opinion about something anybody say. I don’t care, I’m from the hood.
The relevant comments begin at about 5:00 in. Other topics he touches on include the features on his Dreamchasers 3 mixtape (Jadakiss, Future, Rick Ross) and whether or not he was trying to get at Tyga’s piece Blac Chyna.

Beyonce & Jay-Z's Lavish Anniversary In Cuba Angers Many Republicans

Beyonce and Jay-Z celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in Cuba this past week, accompanied by their mothers and a ridiculous amount of bodyguards. The two reportedly had a wonderful time, but some are angered by the power couple's decision to spend the anniversary in Cuba. Cuba has a reputation for oppression and poverty, so soaking up the sun and drinking cocktails next to political madness was bothersome to select people. Mauricio Claver-Carone spoke to TMZ about the issue and said, "There are women getting beaten on a daily basis, women who are jailed for no reason...people are fighting for their freedom. It's extremely insensitive." Since Cuban tourism is banned for Americans, Bey and Jay had to obtain a special visa to visit. How they got that? Who knows. But regardless, it looks like the two stars had a special week and even spent some time with the kids.

The-Dream Says Jay-Z Is 'More Gritty' After Blue Ivy's Birth

The-Dream talks about being sworn to secrecy while working with Jay-Z, and how the legendary rapper has changed since his daughter's birth.
After Jay-Z's much-talked about "Swap Meet" joke at the Grammys, The-Dream predicted Hov might have to give the R&B singer some work to make up for the comment. It seems like Dream's theory was right, as him and Jay are currently working on "a little something," in the studio.
Dream, who won his Grammy for The Throne's "No Church In The Wild", and co-wrote multiple tracks on Beyonce's last album, said that the couple expects secrecy from their collaborators.
"It's so hard because on one hand, I'm really always anxious and excited about new music with everybody that I'm working with. On the other hand, they're always A-List, high-profile, so nobody really wants them to know," he said. "So it's hard for me to actually explain what I'm working on, when it's coming."
As far as Hova softening up a bit after becoming a father, Dream says Blue Ivy has actually had the opposite effect on the rap legend. "Nah, I think he's gotten a little bit more gritty," he said.
The Love King also talked a bit about where Jay's head is at right now in terms of rapping.
"I think he's becoming more of a painting. It's just moving. It's just traveling through time now," he said. "It's like when da Vinci drew something and you have to start looking at it like that."
"There's no way to be surprised again. If any one of us does anything great, it's hard to surprise you. You already have an expectation level that's so high," he reasoned. "So he's definitely more skilled and better than he was, but are you really surprised?"

Kid Cudi is No Longer Signed to G.O.O.D. Music

Kid Cudi has severed ties with G.O.O.D. Music, Kanye West's boutique label, which he signed with back in the fall of 2008.

"Everything is cool, everything is peace with everyone on the label," he explained in an interview on Power 106 in Los Angeles earlier today (April 2). "There's never been any issues but I am announcing that I'm no longer on G.O.O.D. Music."

Cudi, whose album Indicud drops April 23, explained that the separation came about very smoothly.

"Me and Kanye.... we were talking on the phone the other day," he said. "These are things I wanted to talk to him about, about me starting [on] my own direction. And he got it. Because he's trying to start his new path and try new things as an artist, as he was just like, 'You know, man, I feel you. It's cool.'"

He reiterated that there is no drama with anyone on G.O.O.D. Music.

"This is just from a business standpoint," he explained. "There's no beef. No problems with anybody on the label. It's all love... I wanna focus on Wicked Awesome. I wanna focus on [King] Chip. I don't wanna have like a full label of artists"
