New Artist Spolight: Ayindé "No Slices- Mixtape"

When it comes to rappers I am quite critical, leaving my liking of rappers to a very small collective. However There comes a rapper every now and then that'll leave an impression on me and makes me want to keep my eyes on them.
This morning my inbox was hit with a press release for Ayindé, before reading the press release I assumed Ayindé  was either an R&B/Neo-Soul siger or some really androgynous boyband with cordinate clothing. So as you may have guessed I was hesitent to listen to the artist let alone do this feature. So I continue to read the press release and discover he's a rapper from Long Island, NY. Still cautious about listening I took a listen to the music and really should have slapped myself in the face for not just going along with reading in the first place. His style rivals the likes of Drake, J.Cole and Kanye (as mentioned in the press release) and TFC's very own Max V.
After Jump you can view my full review of the mixtape as well as the download.

Long Island rapper Ayindé released his debut "No Slices" mixtape via TruStatement and LikeMindsEntertainment, with production by several up and coming Producers like Johnny Juliano, Tonye Kay, E.louis and more. This 17 song set is a chill yet head knocking mixtape with some Old school flare. The leading cut from the tape is the springy summer anthem "Do It" which will make a good listen when you're just driving with yourself around town in the peak of the day, it's a feel good song. Ayindé means "Praise To The King" and the bulk of the album is a real kings record. Most of the tracks are very underground and feel good but the Johnny Juliano produced song "Gone" showcases a more commercial side of "No Slices" which if properly released could generate an even bigger buzz for Ayindé. Another stand out is Ayindé's self produced track (of many)"No Slices" is in my opinion one of the stand out tracks lyrically speaking.
The overally sound of the album is something we've heard before but with a new flair put in the mix, His beats are those of Drake and Kanye but his Lyrics say Ayindé. Praise to the new king of his own throne for such a remarkable piece of work.
